Commander III Barrier/Parapet Applications

Junctions 3 to 4 of the M2 expressway in Belfast, Northern Ireland, involved the engineering of a new concrete barrier system capable of accommodating up to 3.9 ft. (1.2 m) of roadway level differences.

The wide step barrier required 0.9 cubic yards (0.7 m3) of concrete to slipform just 3.3 ft. (1 m), and it was slipformed by a three-track Commander III.

This contractor in St. Louis, Missouri, is slipforming variable barrier wall up to 7 ft. (2.1 m) tall.

This Commander III is equipped with the four-track barrier package and has a hydraulically extendible rear frame to extend the right rear leg. The wall on this project has a 19 inch (483 mm) wide top, is 39.25 inches (997 mm) wide at the base and its sidewalls vary in height from 3.5 to 6.5 feet (1.1 to 2 m).

This four-track Commander III is equipped with a side-mounted barrier package. All-Track Positioning (ATP) allows the four legs to be put in various positions to permit the sidemounting of the variable barrier mold.
