Commander III Unique Applications

The tracks on this Commander III, equipped with the Leica stringless system, were built to tilt up to a 35 degree angle to run on the curved walls of the Channel Tunnel Rail Link project connecting London, England, to Europe. The Commander III was used to slipform the walkways in the tunnel.

This contractor in Japan has completed a slope project with their four-track Commander III. The project required them to slipform a 9.8 foot (3 m) wide slab at a 1:2.4 slope. The project was part of building a slope on the inside of a breakwater.

High-Drive Tracks For Tight-Clearance Paving

GOMACO's high-drive tracks provide the answer for minimum-clearance paving conditions. The Commander III, equipped with high-drive tracks, easily maneuvers through tight clearances on various projects. The high-drive track is ideal for minimum-clearance situations that sometimes exist when adding lanes to ramps and highways or replacing streets in residential areas.

Unique Four-Track Under-Mounted Barrier

A unique under-mounted barrier package is available for most types of barrier applications and allows for minimum-clearance paving conditions. This barrier package converts a three-track Commander to a four-track under-mounted barrier machine. The modifications include attaching the four-track adapter bean (red in graphic to the right) and end car (blue in graphic to the right) plus a rear mold hold-down (purple in graphic to the right), and attaching the left-rear (fourth) leg and track.

The images below show the Commander III four-track with the under-mounted barrier package using the SlipStone, Inc., extruded wall system.
