CHOOSING THE RIGHT COURSE

The 2008 Season At GOMACO University Has Concluded

The 2008 season at GOMACO University has drawn to a close. Check back on this web site in the fall for the posting of the 2009 class schedule.

On this page you will find:

GOMACO University Information & Policies

Registration Policy: GOMACO provides quality training in a friendly environment at a reasonable price. The registration fee includes all class materials, the Sunday evening reception, all noon lunches and the Thursday evening dinner. Classes that consist of three days (Tuesday - Thursday) are $250.00 and classes that consist of four days (Monday - Thursday) are $300.00. To guarantee your space, the registration form and registration fee must be received at least 14 days prior to the start of the class.

To register using this web site, click here or download the PDF to register by mail. If you are registering by mail, payment must be included. For additional information, contact Shari Simmons at gomacou@gomaco.com or by calling 1-800-831-2320, ext. 5272.

Cancellation Policy: GOMACO will make every effort to conduct the training sessions as scheduled. The minimum class size is eight attendees and the maximum class size will be limited. In the event of a class being cancelled by GOMACO, a notice of at least two weeks will be given. The full registration fee for those who are registered will be returned. Please note that GOMACO assumes no responsibility for transportation charges incurred relative to cancelled or changed classes.

In the event a student must cancel, the registration fee will be refunded in full if notice is received at least two weeks prior to the starting date of the requested session. If less than two weeks notice is given, a 60% cancellation fee may be applied. If a student fails to attend, with no notice given, the registration fee is forfeited. Your company may substitute a student up to the starting date of the class.

Transportation Policy: Attendees must provide their own transportation to and from Ida Grove and any additional living expenses while here. For those who must fly in, GOMACO recommends flying into Omaha, Nebraska (approximately 100 miles from Ida Grove), and renting a car. You can also fly into Sioux City, Iowa (approximately 55 miles from Ida Grove), however air service is limited. As a note, the individual renting the car must be 25 years of age and have a credit card with their name on it.

Click here for maps to navigate western Iowa or Ida Grove.

Attendance Policy: Your commitment to attending should be important not only to you, but also to your employer and your fellow attendees. All classes run through 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. You are required to attend all sessions of the class. If you miss any portion of the class sessions, for whatever reason, it may result in forfeiture of your “Certificate of Achievement.”

Recognition Policy: GOMACO recognizes the importance of being properly trained to do a quality job. We therefore recognize individuals who have attended GOMACO University at least five different years. Upon achieving five years of attendance, the individual is presented with a GU letter jacket with each year of attendance noted on it. For each additional year of attendance, the new year is added to the jacket. All attendees who have their GU jacket are encouraged to bring it with them so that the current year can be added.

Although classes are designed for machines equipped with the Network and G21 control systems, issues and questions concerning the Micro and Analog control systems will be addressed as required.

Class Format

Classes at GOMACO University are designed to meet the busy and demanding needs of today's concrete construction workers. Several courses, such as the GT-3600 Network & G21, Four-Track Commander III and GT-6300, Three-Track Commander III, Three-Track GT-6300 Network, and Two-Track and Four-Track Pavers, will be four-day courses. You must attend all four days to receive certificates.

Several classes, such as the GT-3200/GT-6200, Trimmers, Cylinder Finishers, IDBI and GT-3400, are three-day sessions beginning on Tuesdays. All three days must be attended as a complete course.

All classes will be presented either in the main GOMACO University facility or in the GOMACO University Paving Center, which is a short block from the main facility.
