The GOMACO C-750 Finishes Concrete Up To 156 Feet (47.5 m) Wide In A Single Pass

C-750

A GOMACO C-750 is equipped with rotary stinger vibrator, dual adjustable augers, double cylinder undercarriage and a double float pan provides a smooth finish on this project at O’Hare International Airport in Chicago, Illinois.

GOMACO originated and patented the cylinder finisher concept in the early 1960s. For the past four decades, they have continued to apply their engineering and manufacturing expertise to their line of concrete cylinder finishers. At World of Concrete 2007, for the first time anywhere, the company displayed their C-750 finisher with the capability of finishing concrete up to 156 feet (47.5 m) wide.

The GOMACO C-750 has many of the same features as the award-winning C-450 cylinder finisher. They include automatic advance, automatic self-widening carriage, powered widening to maintain crown position on tapered decks, and operator enhanced monitoring of the machine functions with panel-mounted bogie and carriage circuit pressure gauges.

The automatic advance with preset timing is electronically controlled at the end of each finishing pass. As the machine advances, the undercarriage can change attack angle and concrete finishing resumes. The turntable attached to the undercarriage features a frictionless bearing system and allows the undercarriage to smoothly change the attack angle. The C-750’s automatic self-widening will automatically control the carriage’s travel distance. Proximity switches are used on the C-750 for widening or tapering the width of the slab on the project.

A hydraulic PTA (power transition adjuster) allows the operator to make on-the-go crown elevation changes automatically from the operator’s console. GOMACO’s patented three-point finishing system on the new finisher assures high-production and a superior finish. An auger levels the concrete, the cylinders consolidate and finish the concrete and the float pan seals and textures the surface of the slab. A 360-degree turntable on the upper carriage allows maximum skewing of the undercarriage to keep the finishing cylinders parallel to the center of the slab.

GOMACO finishers provide high-production results with one-pass finishing. The C-750 features an externally vibrated undercarriage. It allows vibration to be applied closer to the finishing cylinders for the smoothest finish to the surface, especially with low-slump concrete mix designs. The C-750 can finish widths up to 156 feet (47.5 m) without an overhead truss assembly required. It is designed for bridge decks, flat slabs and slope finishing projects. The hydraulics are electronically controlled for greater precision, versatility, ease of setup, and ease of operation.
