New Right-Side or Left-Side Pour Capable GOMACO GT-3200 To Be Introduced at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2008

A concept drawing shows the new look of the GT-3200. Its new right-side/left-side pour capability is based on moving the leg assembly to the front or back of the machine.

GOMACO has taken its smaller-sized, compact and easy to transport GT-3200 curb and gutter machine and added even more versatility to its design. The new GT-3200 is now right-side or left-side pour capable, features a newly designed front leg, and has an even faster tracking and paving speed then ever before. GOMACO will introduce the new GT-3200 to the world market at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2008 in their Booth, #C5657 in the Central Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center.

The new GT-3200 is built around a right-side/left-side pour concept. The machine’s front track assembly can be either mounted to a flange on the front of the machine for a left-side pour or mounted to a flange on the back of the machine for a right-side pour. The conveyor is capable of accommodating both directions, or an auger could be used for slipforming the specific direction.

The side-mounted operator’s platform features a modular design to allow for paving in either direction. The platform is strategically positioned to allow the operator to view the delivery of concrete to the receiving area and to the hopper of the paving mold. The operator has an excellent view of the finished product, while maintaining hands-on control of the machine.

The GT-3200’s front leg will feature the same newly designed leg as the GT-3400 curb and gutter machine. GOMACO engineers have designed a piston-style leg that acts like a hydraulic cylinder. The leg has bearings on both ends of the inner tube so there is no steel-on-steel contact and adjusting wear pads is a thing of the past with the new legs. A keyway is utilized for steering control. The new front leg provides more steering torque for tighter turning capabilities and maneuverability around the job site. The GT-3200’s rear legs have also been improved and are now three times stronger than before. Two-speed track motors provide fast job-site mobility up to 125 feet per minute (38 mpm). It’s one of the fastest tracking speeds in the industry. Paving speed was increased up to 50 feet per minute (15.2 mpm). The machine itself is powered by a C4.4T Caterpillar® Tier III diesel engine with 91 hp at 2300 rpm.

This GT-3200 also features the same hydraulically telescoping frame allowing up to 36 inches (914 mm) of lateral leg movement to accommodate changing job-site requirements.

A new fiberglass shroud on the GT-3200 is light weight and provides easy access to the engine and other components. New black plastic fenders are a standard safety feature and complete the look of the new machine.
