Placing Concrete Across Flat Slabs Or On Slopes

GOMACO's RC Conveyor is designed to place concrete across flat slabs or on slopes up to 135 ft. (41.15 m) wide. It is also available for use as a half-width placer with a slipform paver.

It is designed with a lattice-type, structural angle-iron frame with pin-connected sections which are interchangeable in 12 ft. (3.66 m), 6 ft. (1.83 m) and 3 ft. (.91 m) increments for fast setup and easy assembly.

The RC Conveyor comes with a standard, double-flanged, steel trolley wheels that run on any type of rail system or paving forms. Traction speed is variable up to 38 fpm (11.58 mpm), forward and reverse.

The bogies are designed to allow the frame to be set at any skewed angle up to 55 degrees. The travel speed of each bogie is independently controlled to allow negotiation through radii.

The RC Conveyor includes self-widening capability for use on tapered decks and slabs.

Concrete is discharged directly into receiving hopper from Ready Mix trucks.

The diverter car discharges to the front or rear and is operated by hydraulically powered, positive chain drive. The variable hydraulic control of the diverter car and the machine travel assures even and accurate placement of concrete.

The conveyor is counterbalanced with console and receiving hopper at opposite ends, removing the operator from congested areas of the receiving hopper.

The self-contained console has easy-to-operate controls. The RC Conveyor is powered by a 70 hp (52.2 kW) diesel engine.

A GOMACO SL-750 cylinder finisher working on a Hyundai test track for their vehicles manufactured in China became the first finisher to be controlled with a 3D guidance system. The project also utilized a track-mounted RC Conveyor and a 4000 series Spanit® work bridge with rubber tires.

RC Conveyor

This contractor is at work on a large canal project in Rancaqua, Chile. They are using two GOMACO CP-650s, one for concrete finishing and one equipped with a compaction roller for the grade. The RC Conveyor on the project is used for placing both the rock for the grade and the concrete for the canal.

Half-Width Placing Application

Here’s an economical system for quick discharge from ready-mix trucks. The RC Conveyor is a powered system with a unique divert-a-car for placing the concrete across the width of the slab.

This has become a popular product with the need to get concrete trucks on and off the job site without piling the material. The RC Conveyor can reduce the number of trucks necessary, depending on job-site logistics.
