| Job Description: |
The Drafter uses computer-aided design (CAD) software to convert rough sketches, specifications, and design data from engineers into detailed 2D and 3D technical drawings of paving machinery and its components. This role is essential for the manufacturing and assembly process, ensuring that designs are accurate, compliant with industry standards, and optimized for production.

Key Responsibilities:
• Create and modify detailed technical drawings and solid models of mechanical equipment, weldments, and complex sub-assemblies for paving machines.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to interpret design concepts and ensure all drawing specifications meet performance, cost, and quality standards.
• Generate detailed manufacturing schematics, bills of materials (BOMs), and layout diagrams from 3D models.
• Ensure all designs and drawings comply with industry standards, manufacturing techniques, and safety regulations.
• Review and verify engineering drawings for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to company standards before release.
• Revise existing drawings to reflect engineering changes, operational improvements, and corrections, and manage all drawing revisions using a Product Data Management (PDM) system.
• Provide support to manufacturing and assembly personnel by clarifying design details and resolving production problems as they arise.
• Program automated manufacturing systems and provide input for production mold creation from finalized drawings.
• Assist in creating and maintaining a standardized library of drawing templates, blocks, and symbols.
Qualifications:
Associate degree in Drafting, Computer-Aided Design (CAD), or Mechanical Engineering Technology, or equivalent technical certification. No previous experience required, but experience gained through school projects or internships is a plus.
