Ida Grove, IA, USA – Grant Godbersen has been named the new President of Godbersen-Smith Construction Company, the parent company of GOMACO Corporation. The announcement was made during a special meeting of the Godbersen-Smith Board of Directors on November 16, 2023. He replaces his father, Gary Godbersen, who passed away earlier this year.
Before the appointment, Godbersen was Vice President of Manufacturing for GOMACO Corporation in Ida Grove, Iowa, and responsible for overseeing all manufacturing operations, purchasing and quality control. He has also worked in various departments within GOMACO, including manufacturing, field service, marketing, production control, and was named plant manager in 1994. He had been GOMACO’s Vice President of Manufacturing since 1997. Godbersen previously served as Manager of Gomaco Trolley Company, a company that specializes in the manufacturing and restoration of authentic vintage trolleys. He is president and co-owner of Godbersen Equipment Company (GEC). GEC is the leading equipment broker to buy and sell used GOMACO concrete paving equipment, parts, components, and curb and gutter and curb profile insert molds.
It was also announced at the Board of Directors meeting that David Petersen is GOMACO's new Vice President of Administration and Finance. Petersen has been with GOMACO since 1986 serving as the company's IT Manager. He replaces Rich Smith who previously held the position. The Board also confirmed Scott Pedersen as an officer of the company. He was named Vice President of Engineering and Research and Development in April 2023.
A special Godbersen-Smith Construction Company Shareholders Meeting was also held on November 16 to elect a new board. The newly elected members are: Grant Godbersen, GOMACO President; Kent Godbersen, GOMACO Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Marketing; Micki Godbersen, GOMACO Marketing and Events Coordinator; David Petersen, GOMACO Vice President of Administration and Finance; and Kevin Klein, retired GOMACO Vice President of Engineering and Research and Development.
