The first event at GOMACO Invitational #35 is the 2-Person Putting Tournament. The computer will pair you with another golfer, and the two of you will compete for a piece of the $18,000 prize purse.
To participate, you first need to register for this year's GOMACO Invitational, and click the Putting Tournament check-box when you select the events you plan to participate in.
On Tuesday, September 20, we will need you to check-in with us by 11:30 a.m. at the Ida Grove clubhouse. We will have a tent set up outside the clubhouse for you to confirm your participation in the Putting Tournament with our staff.
After check-in closes, the computer will assign you a putting partner, and place you on one of four putting greens on the Ida Grove course for the preliminary tournament. Your partner and green number will be posted at 1:15 p.m. near the clubhouse patio. From there, you will go to your green for the preliminary Putting Tournament. If you need assistance locating your green, please look for any GOMACO employee. We will be wearing white Invitational shirts on Tuesday, and have GOMACO on our name tags.
Every green is an individual putting tournament. It is match play, with participants alternating shots. The second through fourth place teams on each green will receive cash prizes, and the first place team will advance to the nine-hole Putting Championship on the #9 green by the Ida Grove clubhouse.
The Putting Championship is stroke play, and will begin at 3:30 p.m. The first place team wins a $3,000 cash team prize, and has their names engraved on the championship trophy. The second place team receives a $2,500 cash team prize, the third place team is awarded a $2,000 cash team prize, and fourth place earns a $1,700 cash team prize.

The 3-Person Contractors' Shoot-Out is a special event just for GOMACO customers. It will start at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 20, immediately after the conclusion of the Putting Tournament Championship.
The competition is a five-hole shoot-out, with the highest scoring team on each hole eliminated. The play continues until we have a champion on the final hole!
Each Contractors' Shoot-Out team has one A, B, and C golfer, so we need contractors of all skill levels. If you are a contractor and would like the chance to participate, be sure to click the Contractors' Shoot-Out check-box when you register for Invitational #35.
At 1 p.m. Tuesday on the Ida Grove patio, we will have a drawing to fill six, three-person teams, for a total of 18 contractors. You need to be present at the drawing to be eligible, and have checked the Contractors' Shoot-Out check-box when you registered.
If you are drawn to be on a team, you will need to be at the Ida Grove #1 tee box around 4:30 p.m. with your clubs and a cart immediately following the Putting Tournament Championship.
Every player hits the first shot, and shots are alternated between the three team members from that point forward.
If you aren't golfing in the shoot-out, be sure to grab a cart and follow the action around the course. The holes for the Contractors' Shoot-Out are #1 through #5.
The first place team wins a $2,100 team cash prize, and has their names engraved on the championship trophy. Second place receives a $1,500 cash team prize, and the third place team earns a $900 cash team prize.

Brad Denton's trick-shot show will start at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday on the Ida Grove #1 tee box. Brad has more than 20 years of experience as a professional player, teacher and entertainer, and was named Golfweek's 2013 Entertainer Of The Year.
His incredible trick shots demonstrate the fundamentals of the golf swing "with a twist," and he uses his fun-loving and clean sense of humor, and quick wit to keep the audience in stitches. Brad hits with a variety of "not-so-ordinary" clubs, such as a six foot driver and a 10 foot driver he hits with while standing on stilts. He also loves to bring members of the audience into his show for demonstrations, so be prepared!
Brad has managed and instructed for a top five nationally ranked golf school, and has taught independently in Nuremberg, Germany. He has also competed professionally throughout the United States, Canada, and Germany.
Brad has performed on Real TV, Ripley's Believe It Or Not, and You Gotta See This on the Fox Sports Network, and has also been on The Golf Channel. He has performed for the Guinness Book of World Records to establish a new world record for the Longest Golf Club In The World.

Don't forget to grill a slice or two of thickly-cut, buttered Texas toast. If you can't wait until you get into the clubhouse to enjoy your toast, don't worry, you won't be the only one! We will also have whole, sweet onions served hot off the grill, side dishes, and dessert.

If you are playing in the 4-person, 18-hole Scramble Tournament, we will need you to check in for the event when you arrive at the Ida Grove Country Club first thing on Wednesday morning, September 21. This is when you will pay your $65 Scramble Tournament entry fee (100 percent payback in cash and prizes), and receive your Invitational #35 "goodies." Check-in closes at 8 a.m., and the computer will then select the tournament foursomes and the course you will be playing on. The Scramble Tournament courses are Ida Grove, Holstein, Mapleton, and Odebolt.
We have a great Wednesday morning breakfast lined up. Light, golden pancakes will be flipping in the clubhouse. You may even need to catch your breakfast just like the gentleman in the above photo! We will also have fruit toppings and syrups available, and side dishes.
Before the 18-hole tournament starts, there are more activities around the clubhouse. At 8:15 a.m., five GOMACO Invitational #35 attendees will putt it out for cold, hard cash in the $5,000 Putt!

Practice your long putts this summer! It could pay off! At 8:15 a.m. Wednesday morning, one lucky GOMACO Invitational guest will have the opportunity to attempt to sink a 50-foot putt worth $5,000 in cash!
During Tuesday evening's awards ceremony, the names of five attendees will be drawn to participate in the $5,000 Putt. Then on Wednesday morning, they will need to be at the Ida Grove practice green at 8:15 a.m. with their putters ready to go! This prize was won in 2006 by Dennis Garcia of WMC Contracting Company, and it would be great to have a winner again this year!
Rich Smith, GOMACO's Vice President of Administration and Finance, will host the event, and lead the participants through a short putt-off. The winner of the putt-off will have one chance to sink a 50-foot putt for the cash prize.
Last year's competitors were Ryan Grathwohl of ESS, Charlie Knudsen of Concrete Technologies, Inc., Kane Nordmeyer of Paulsen, Inc., Charlie Weaver of Weaver-Bailey Contracting, and Martin Rangel of RGG United Contractors Inc. After the putt-off, Charlie Knudsen (in above photo) earned the honor of attempting to sink a 50-foot putt worth $5,000. Charlie had an amazing putt, but the prize went unclaimed at #34.
After the $5,000 Putt, the Scramble Tournament foursomes and which course you will be playing on will be posted. Announcements will be made when it is time to load the bus for your course.

Everyone hits every shot, which makes it a fun day for all levels of golfers.

Be sure and take everything you will need with you that morning, as you will not return to Ida Grove until late in the afternoon.
A hot lunch grilled by GOMACO employees, along with snacks and refreshments, will be served on-the-go on every course. It will include hamburgers and the famous Tiefenthaler's skinless brats from Holstein, chips, nuts, candy, and more.
Every course is its own, separate tournament, with crystal trophies awarded to the members of each course's top team. There are three flights of winners from each course, so never give up on your game! The tournament is 100 percent payback in cash and prizes. Along with the cash prizes, we will have a prize table set up at the Wednesday awards ceremony featuring the newest in technology, leisure, and golfing innovations.
The winning team from each course's tournament will have their names engraved on their course champions' trophy, and advance to the three-hole "Grand" Champion Shoot-Out at 6 p.m. on the Ida Grove course.
