Eighteen contractors' names were drawn before the Putting Tournament to comprise six three-person teams for the Contractors' Shoot-Out, and then were let loose on the Ida Grove course following the conclusion of the Putting Finals. Members of this year's winning team were Don Weaver of Weaver-Bailey Contracting, Dan Thompson of Border States Paving, Inc., and Dale Hadsall of Jasper Construction Co. Second place in the shoot-out was the team of Rob Loch of Loch Sand & Construction Co., Don Beaudoin of William Beaudoin & Sons and Brian Buchholtz of Anderson Contractors, and the third place team was Tom Evans of Great Northern Construction, Dan Smith of SK Construction and Brad Cundy of Cundy Asphalt.
