At 1:15 p.m. on Tuesday, September 19, more than 250 putters fanned out on four different greens on the Ida Grove Golf Course for the preliminary round of the Putting Tournament. Each green crowned one championship team, who then progressed to the Putting Championship later that afternoon on the #9 green in front of the clubhouse.

The pairings for this year's Putting Tournament were picked by computer. Right before the tournament began, the team listings and the greens on which they were competing were posted.
