Great Entertainment, Fantastic Iowa Food & So Much More!

GOMACO Invitational

When you're at the GOMACO Invitational, we'll take care of almost everything for you. All of the meals and refreshments are compliments of GOMACO and GOMACO Invitational sponsors. We'll have a wide variety of the best foods Iowa has to offer, so bring your appetite, along with your golf skills!

The entertainment at #29 is trick-shot artist Dan Boever, and he'll keep you absolutely astounded with his skill, and doubled over with laughter at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 14, following the Putting Tournament and Contractors' Shoot-Out! The day will conclude with the Pride of Iowa Steak Fry featuring Iowa's best, aged rib-eye steaks, also starting at 6:30 p.m., and an awards ceremony at 8:30 p.m. in the clubhouse for the day's winners.

Activities on Wednesday, September 15, start with the Opening Ceremony, where you will be introduced to the Godbersen family, your hosts for the GOMACO Invitational. This will begin at 8:15 a.m. on the practice green by the Ida Grove clubhouse. Right after the Opening Ceremony, five contestants (whose names will be drawn at the Tuesday night awards ceremony), will battle for the chance to attempt to sink the 50-foot, $5,000 Putt! The day will continue with the 4-Person, 18-hole Scramble Tournament, the "Grand" Champion Shoot-Out at 6 p.m., and a banquet dinner and awards ceremony at the Skate Palace starting at 7:30 p.m.

Practice Your Long Putts Now & Sink A 50-Foot Putt Worth $5,000 In September! - It Was Won In 2006!

$5,000 Putt
$5,000 Putt

One lucky GOMACO Invitational guest will have the opportunity to attempt to sink a 50-foot putt worth $5,000 around 8:15 a.m. on Wednesday morning. Five names will be drawn from all registered attendees at the awards ceremony on Tuesday night. These five individuals need to report to the practice green by the Ida Grove clubhouse on Wednesday morning with their putters in hand! This great prize was last given out in 2006, and maybe someone will get lucky this year again!

Rich Smith, GOMACO Vice President of Administration and Finance, will host the event and lead the participants through a short putt-off. The winning individual will have one chance to sink a 50-foot putt for all of the money!

Last year's competitors (seen in top photo) were Donn Diederich of Industrial Builders, Brent Michael of Turner-Michael Construction Co., Mike Hassell of Hassell Construction Co., Dean Stoos of Fitch & Stoos, and Dan Way of Great-West Retirement Services.

Donn Diederich (seen in bottom photo) earned the honor of attempting the long putt, but despite a great effort, the prize went unclaimed.

The rest of Wednesday is dedicated to the 18-hole Scramble Tournament and the "Grand" Champion Shoot-Out.
