Enjoy The Fun & Camaraderie Of GOMACO's 2-3-4 Golf Competitions
The first big event at GOMACO Invitational #30 is the 2-person Putting Tournament on Tuesday, September 20. It's designed so everyone who takes part can have a great time and has a chance to win cash prizes. All attendees who register for this event are divided, by computer, into teams of two and are placed on one of four greens on the Ida Grove course. After a preliminary competition, the top four teams from each green earn cash prizes, and the top team from each green progresses to the Putting Championship. The prize purse for the Putting Tournament is $18,000, with $3,000 going to the championship pair! We introduced the Putting Tournament in 1984, the third GOMACO Invitational, and it continues to be a popular event to this day!
Are you a contractor? Are you attending the GOMACO Invitational? Might luck be on your side? If you answer "yes" to the above questions, be sure to select "Contractors' Shoot-Out" as one of your events when you register. The 3-person Contractors' Shoot-Out is the second event on Tuesday, September 20, exclusively for GOMACO customers. There is a drawing from all contractors who register for the event to fill six, three-person teams. Each team will include one A, B and C player. The five-hole shoot-out starts on Ida Grove tee #1, with the highest scoring team eliminated on each hole until one champion team is left standing! The top three teams win cash prizes, and the winning team receives a team prize of $2,100. The first Contractors' Shoot-Out was held at Invitational #13 in 1994 with six, 2-person teams. It was expanded to the 3-person team format in 1999 at #18.
The 4-person Scramble Tournament is the heart of the GOMACO Invitational. It was the first event we ever had at tournament #1 in 1982 on the Ida Grove course, and today it's hosted on four area courses, with a "Grand" Champion team crowned from the four course champions. Our 4-person Scramble Tournament on Wednesday, September 21, is designed for all skill levels. Each team has one A, B, C and D player. Everyone hits every shot, which makes it a fun format. The teams are selected by computer, and placed on one of four area courses. At the end of the day, the top team from each course progresses to the "Grand" Champion Shoot-Out in Ida Grove. There are three flights of winners on each course, along with special prizes on every hole and a special hole-in-one prize, $20,000! If you're lucky, you might be taking it home with you! |
