The first event at GOMACO Invitational #33 is the 2-Person Putting Tournament. The computer will pair you with another golfer, and the two of you will compete for a piece of the $18,000 prize purse.
To participate, you first need to register for GOMACO Invitational #33, and click the Putting Tournament check-box when you select the events you plan to participate in.
On Tuesday, September 16, we will need you to check-in with us by 11:30 a.m. at the Ida Grove clubhouse. We will have a tent set up outside the clubhouse for you to stop and confirm your participation in the Putting Tournament with our staff.
After check-in closes, the computer will assign you a putting partner and place you on one of four putting greens on the Ida Grove course for the preliminary tournament. Your partner and green number will be posted at 1:15 p.m. near the clubhouse patio, right after the drawing for the Contractors' Shoot-Out teams.
Every green is an individual putting tournament. It is match play, with participants alternating shots. The second through fourth place teams on each green will receive cash prizes, and the first place team will advance to the nine-hole Putting Championship on the #9 green by the Ida Grove clubhouse.
The Putting Championship is stroke play, and will start at 3:30 p.m. The first place team wins a $3,000 cash team prize, and has their names engraved on the championship trophy. The second place team receives a $2,500 cash team prize, the third place team is awarded a $2,000 cash team prize, and fourth place earns a $1,700 cash team prize.
Last year's Putting Champions were Bob Newman of Road Machinery & Supplies Company, and Kenny Wages of Turner-Michael Construction Company.

The 3-Person Contractors' Shoot-Out is a special event just for GOMACO customers. It will start at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 16, immediately after the conclusion of the Putting Tournament Championship.
The competition is a five-hole shoot-out, with the highest scoring team on each hole eliminated. The play continues until we have a champion on the final hole!
Each Contractors' Shoot-Out team is comprised of one A, B, and C golfer, so this event needs contractors of all skill levels. If you are a contractor and would like the chance to participate, be sure to click the Contractors' Shoot-Out check-box when you register for Invitational #33.
At 1 p.m. Tuesday on the Ida Grove patio, right before the preliminary round of the Putting Tournament, we will have a drawing to fill six, three-person teams, for a total of 18 contractors. You need to be present at the drawing to be eligible, and have checked the Contractors' Shoot-Out box when you registered.
If you are drawn for a team, you will need to be at the Ida Grove #1 tee box around 4:30 p.m. with your clubs and a cart immediately following the Putting Tournament Championship.
Every player hits the first shot, and shots are alternated between the three team members from that point forward.
If you aren't golfing in the shoot-out, be sure to grab a cart and follow the action around the course! The holes for the Contractors' Shoot-Out are #1 through #5.
The first place team wins a $2,100 team cash prize, and has their names engraved on the championship trophy. Second place receives a $1,500 cash team prize, and the third place team earns a $600 cash team prize.
Last year's winning team was Neil McFadden of Smith Paving & Excavating, Tom Giefer of Kansas Heavy Construction, LLC., and Vince Meier of Meier's Concrete.
The Association of Equipment Manufacturer's (AEM) Harley Tour will be making a stop at the GOMACO Invitational on Tuesday, September 16. The display will be at the Ida Grove Country Club from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
The Harley Tour brings a glass-sided truck carrying a custom-painted Harley-Davidson Road King motorcycle, which will be given away in November. You can register for a chance to win by signing up as an I Make America supporter.
The tour, which was launched at CONEXPO-CON/AGG in March, offers AEM members a unique opportunity to raise awareness of the I Make America mission while advocating for public policies that advance the interests of employees, communities, and companies of the equipment manufacturing industry.
Brad Denton's trick-shot show will start at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday on the Ida Grove #1 tee box. Brad has more than 20 years of experience as a professional player, teacher and entertainer, and was named Golfweek's 2013 Entertainer Of The Year.
His incredible trick shots demonstrate the fundamentals of the golf swing, and he uses his fun-loving and clean sense of humor, impersonations, and quick wit to keep the audience in stitches. He uses a variety of "not-so-ordinary" clubs, such as a six foot driver and a 10 foot driver he hits with while standing on stilts.
Brad has managed and instructed for a top 5 nationally ranked golf school, and has taught independently in Nuremberg, Germany. He has also competed professionally throughout the United States, Canada, and Germany.
Brad has performed on Real TV, Ripley's Believe It Or Not, and You Gotta See This on the Fox Sports Network, and has also been on The Golf Channel. He has performed for the Guinness Book of World Records to establish a new world record for the Longest Golf Club In The World.

Click For The $5,000 Putt From #32 |
Around 8:15 a.m. on Wednesday morning, one lucky GOMACO Invitational guest will have the opportunity to attempt to sink a 50-foot putt worth $5,000 in cash!
During Tuesday evening's awards ceremony, the names of five attendees are drawn to participate in the $5,000 Putt. Then on Wednesday morning, they need to be at the practice green at 8:15 a.m. ready to putt! We gave away this prize in 2006, and it would be great to have a winner again at #33!
Rich Smith, GOMACO's Vice President of Administration and Finance (far left in above, left photo), will host the event, and lead the participants through a short putt-off. The winner of the putt-off will have one chance to sink a 50-foot putt for the cash prize!
Last year's competitors (starting second from left in above, left photo) were Jeff Gragg of Kansas Heavy Construction, LLC, Gary Highley of Millstone Bangert, Inc., Mike Copeland of Tractor and Equipment Company, Tom Udland of Murphy Tractor and Equipment Company, and Jacob Wilson of Pavers, Inc. Gary Highley earned the honor of attempting to sink a 50-foot putt worth $5,000. Despite an excellent putt, the prize went unclaimed at #32.
Shortly after the $5,000 Putt, the Scramble Tournament foursomes and which course you will be playing on will be posted. Announcements will be made when it is time to load the bus for your course.
