Ida Grove Scramble Tournament
Wednesday's 18-hole Scramble Tournament was the big event at the GOMACO Invitational. The computer selected the four-person teams and assigned each team to one of four courses. Each team consisted of one A, B, C and D player. Everyone hits every shot in our Scramble Tournament, which is a fun format for all skill levels. After the Opening Ceremony and $5,000 Putt, the teams headed out to their assigned course, either Ida Grove, Holstein, Mapleton or Odebolt. Each course was a separate tournament, with its own flight winners and an overall champion. The winning team from each course progressed to the "Grand" Champion Shoot-Out later in the day in Ida Grove.
Taking first place in the Ida Grove Scramble Tournament was the foursome of Nick Yaksich of A.E.M., Alister Williams of International Construction Magazine, Tyson Banks of MSC Industrial Supply Co., and Cecil Ward of Lafarge North America. Their final score was 62, which was eight under par. They went on to compete in the "Grand" Champion Shoot-Out between themselves and the first place teams from Holstein, Mapleton and Odebolt.
