Tuesday Morning

The fun and excitement of GOMACO Invitational #36 kicked-off on Tuesday, September 19, at the Ida Grove Golf and Country Club. The golfing events were held in the afternoon, and those who arrived early could enjoy open golf, practice their swing at the driving range, work on any last minute putting refinements for the Putting Tournament, or relax around the clubhouse with their friends in the industry. A GOMACO four-track Commander III slipform paver, which was reconditioned by Godbersen Equipment Company (GEC), was featured and displayed at the country club.

The first event on the schedule was the drawing at 1 p.m. for the six teams in the Contractors' Shoot-Out. Then at 1:15 p.m., 254 participants headed out to four greens on the Ida Grove course to compete in the preliminary round of the Putting Tournament. Each of the four greens had a winning team, and they advanced to the Putting Tournament Championship at 3:30 p.m. on the Ida Grove #9 green beside the clubhouse.

Following the Putting Tournament, the Contractors' Shoot-Out (a special event just for our customers) started at 4:30 p.m. The day rounded out with Brad Denton's Trick-Shot Show and the Pride of Iowa Steak Fry at 6:30 p.m., and an awards ceremony for the day's events.
