Wednesday's 18-hole Scramble Tournament was the main event at GOMACO Invitational #35. The computer selected the four-person teams, and assigned them to one of four courses. Each team consisted of one A, B, C, and D player. Everyone hit every shot, which made it a fun format for all skill levels. Each course (Ida Grove, Holstein, Mapleton and Odebolt) was a separate tournament, with its own flight winners and an overall champion. The winning team from each course went on to compete in the "Grand" Champion Shoot-Out later in the day in Ida Grove.
Winning first place in the Mapleton Scramble Tournament was the foursome of David Barthel of Faris Machinery, Steve Michael of Turner-Michael Construction Co., Sam Finocchio of Durst Div./Regal-Beloit Corporation, and Kenny Turpin of Pavers, Inc. They finished the Mapleton tournament with a score of 59, which was 11 under the course par of 70.
